Freckles Lettuce

A Heirloom romaine lettuce variety from Austria and Southern Germany from the late 18th century. The German name is "forellenschluss" which means speckled like a trout's back. Beautiful green leaves with crimson-rust speckles that grow up-right. The leaves are crisp and bitter.
